An another feather in the cap of Nepal!!!!! A new era usering in for our Nation. A stage of a country becoming a nation-state! What a moment to cherish about and realizing in the reality in front of us – Democratic Republic of Nepal!!! The pictures are superb reminder to those like me who are away from home to feel the thunder that gives in the heart that we are now entering in a new era indeed. I felt what a country would where all the difference comes to mingle in one and become a nation state. Bright leader of our soil and patient and vibrant Nepalese will find a ways to develop a nation to live for everyone , no matter whatever caste, creed and religious affinity we have. I am overwhelmed at this stage and seeing this pictures, I can feel that we are really serious this time. Congratulation to all of us who love the country not because you get something from her because you got to give back to her. Jai Nepal!!!!

Cut the 50% civil servants who are unproductive and burdain for economical sustainability.
Reduce custon tax by 80% and make free to import any type of Vechicles and electronic good from any country. But increase in fuel price to control economy.

Yes Prachanda and his fellows *** fought from the jungle and took thousands of life’s to get into city now people put them into crucial position and off course we will be the one who has to face everything….are they going to eliminate Terrorism, Unemployment, Poverty, Illiteracy etc. Are they going to be able to make Nepal like it was many years ago. Are we going to be able to represent our country as Sundar Santa Nepal. ( Beautiful and Peaceful Nepal) Goodluck to Me, Good Luck to All my Fellow Brothers and Sisters, Seniors and childrens. Congratulations! We have done a good job.
Let’s be very honest, and disciplined and make, so called new nepal a heaven on earth. Let’s give up opportunistic character for good.
(A) 50%: Nepal has been already made by nature. I have never seen such beautiful country anywhere in the world.
(B) 25%: Nepalis have to do.
1. Agricultural development
2. Tourism dev.
3. Hydropower, especially micro and small
(C) 25%: Almost impossible to do. Approx. 18% of himalayan territory is so difficult to manage with the help of available resources and imported technology. It would be extremely expensive to change its shape. It is better to keep without altering any landscape and demostrate for whole world and 6 billion people around the world. Try to preserve it as nature gave us. This would be a wise decision for all nepalis. If you need to do certain strategic development in this region, please consult with Norway, and switzerland.
If we can only follow up (B) and achieve, so called 25% Remarkable Breakthrough (25RB), I am pretty much sure Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (FDRN) will be a HEAVEN on EARTH. If you (leaders, policy makers, law makers, etc.) need help from nepalese expertise (who have been living and working all over the world for decades), please do not hestitate to introduce a new approach to use their tremendous potential. I am sure they would be glad to serve the nation on the globe, where they were born.
Best wishes and good luck!

Leaders got what they want….. but still not sure that people will get what they want…………….. Hope new Nepal could give New vision to the leaders and and that vision give New direction to the country……….. For our country Republic may be a requirement, but for us a self dependent nation is required……….
Lets hope for the best……………. and the so called Leaders could understand what is the change Nepali people want…………
May god bless us as usual…. and lets hope for a “Naturally & Economically Prosperous Academic Land” (NEPAL)

in 2048 so many nepali died for democracy what we get ??
nothing only poor economy , coruption and lot more
and who bring those ??? who did that??????
u know the answer girija and …………….
ganatantra won’t change nepal until there r same people in power
change to any kind of constitution won’t change nepal
to change nepal we have to eliminate those who bring nepal to this condition
and we have to see what did this maobadi do
but i didn’t see any hope from them too
cause they r going to the path that is shown by girija
if they r also a follower of girija nepali
what u expect from ganatantra and maobadi

Congratulation. Nepal declared Republic. People are out of home to celebrate success. Next step is to write constitution by Nepalese to protect right and fate of Nepal and Nepalese. Hope the following days to come will not deter National unity, soverignity and leaders will not compromise with any strengths at any cost against Nepal. Republic will bring prosparity of the Nation but not disintegration of the country as it is already steped up in Terai region. May our leaders (Prachanda, Baburam, Girija and all parties) feel ashamed if foreigners draft constitution in their interest and call our our leaders in their embassy to implement. May the people who are out of home to cheer republic today have strength to outs any our leaders/parties if they betray our country and Nepalese.

Finally, the long awaited dreams of many people seeing Nepal turn into a Federal Democratic Republic have been fulfilled. Now it is the turn of the politicians as well as general public to implement the things into practice. There should be an environment where everyone can feel secure, happy and to start with, necessary steps should be taken to overcome the problems for basic necessities like water, electricity and daily consumables. Government should take action to see the economy booming and tackle the problems of unemployment. Let’s hope Nepal becomes a country as everyone had hoped and desired in the days to come. Bravo and congratulations to everyone.

In the present movement the leaders of all political parties should make consensus government but want to lead the government by the largest party CPN(Maoist) and real federal republic agenda also rised by the leader of maoist and they started people war before 10 years, now the people war reached in the destination but not. Therefore all nepalese people should monitor and beware with the dirty leader if we ignore the politics our country also like Sikkim and Bhutan.

That’s true Mr Hell. I love your opinion. We got democracy in 2046 and they said they going to build New Nepal after panchayat. Now they saying same thing. What happened in 20 yrs of period, just nothing for janta only the leaders made enough money for their rest of the life, nothing for poor janta. What happining now is everything going unconstitutional. Without making constitution how come they remove monarchy and making country republic and so on. My opinion is need to make constitution first than they go for everything through constitution that give to do so. This is I would say too much, they going to far. It won’t last for long. The moist they are in the government but still doing the same thing that they used to do in the past. Their followers YCL*** also active in doing torture, kidnapping, threatening means taking law and order in their hand. This is shame for them man. Our country is in trouble again with in their hand. this emotional cheering for republican nepal will be short lived. The republic set up was influenced by the corrupted leaders and foreigner who want to make nepal their puppet. They knew nepal could not be theit puppet while monarchy was there. That’s why, they initiated the destruction of monarchy by using media power and bribing nepalese corrupted leaders. *** We can imagine how our constitution will be written by such people.
It’s was not possible to influence nepal culturally and to make it like a colony without doing away with monarchy, they finally succeeded in overthrowing monarchy but at the same time letting our great value and culture to fade away slowly and replacing it with imoprted and corrupted values.
Those who are cheering the herald of republic will shortly repent it. By that time, it will be too late.
many people are branding shah dynasty as corrupted, irrogent and so on this is no thing more than the voice of opportunist and corrupted people who want to take advantage of emotional republican circumstance. If shah dynasty was not there to unite nepal and save nepal against british india and china, then none of us would even get chance to blame shah dynasty and recognise ourselves as nepali.

This is a great day to celebrate. Nepali people took away the power from the Shah not from the back like Prithabi Shah did when he shot the Malla’s from the back, but IN FRONT OF HIS FACE. The Shah’s are nothing ***…. and this time Nepali people did not stop to their level and take the power away. This is a great accomplishment, which should not only be credited to Maoist but to all Martyrs starting from Gangalal, Dharma Bhakta to Ganesh Man, BP Koirala but not to the later Koiralas like Girija Koirala or his daughter who was pro monarch. The later generation of Koiralas have just reversed all the great accomplishment of BP Koirala and I dont know why GP is still the leader. If he had the guts and courage, Nepal would have been a republic long before and we would not have to rely on the Maoist who did it through torture and war!
Long live the republic of Nepal!

Monarchy has been a terrible thing for Nepal for past few decades but I am afraid “Maoism” will be much worse. Maoists and the other major political parties do NOT have either vision or expertise needed to build a stable democracy. I just feel sorry for my countrymen.

I have a question to that people who are proud to say that they are Nepali but in the mean time i am confused about this people to be being proud to say Nepali who has make them this proudness to say Nepali? This leader who is doing work out of the draft of constituent in Delhi, this leader who goes to Indian Embassy to ask what time they take launch, or the biggest party who has killed 15,000 people, this leader who has started to fight for the President and Prime minister. If this leaders have make us proud to say Nepali than i don’t want to be the part of proudness to be a Nepali.
And for the Nepali people i want to say one thing creater of Nepal and the name Nepali in which we are proud now, this thing we have got from Shah Dynisty not from this Leader or from King Gyanendra, as creater Shah Dynisty is the father and we have removed our father from home and we are celebrating the day by giving the name Republic thats good. In the mean time i want to remind you this Democracy and Republic this only for the ill mind leaders not for the People so there is nothing to be happy onless and untill new generation will not take over but till that time it will too late.

CONGRATULATION all Nepalese for changing the name of the system n process in Nepal i.e now we r Republic.
Changes r always welcomed. But we have to retrospect ourselve r we really changed in true sense or complete freedom is acquired. We were about to be Declared as peace Zone once now we r divided into peaces for the peace with different so called idiology (Mao,Marx.,Cong,Madhesi,Tharu……..etc.).Till we r not changed in our thinking we r not changed yet. Lets unite with common thinking, for the development of the country, lets change ourselve first individually, play vital role n b committed whatever u r doing in ur respective field.u need not to b a leader or follower for the change be involved n commiting whatever u r doin if u r a teacher play ur role with 100% commitment,if u r in service b commited serve well with ur best or whatever responsbility it may.
Lets analyze our own strength first and empower ourselve by that strength for dev. of our country, n shed away the weakness.Same way in broader sense we should concentrate or policies should be made to encash the opportunites of the nation.Let ignited people unite together for transforming the nation into a dev. one.
So just change of name will b not sufficeint WE HAVE TO CHANGE OURSELVE in thinkin n approach.Shed away the conservative thinking n be involved for the development. Not loke PHALANO they provided space to share the views good job but not permitting to share email id Cause they wont b benefitted if people will not mediate through them, come on change ur thinking man.I have lot to share but it may b boring if it go lengthy.Anyway.

heart felt solute to all Nepalese who have come long way to achieve this.
This now has paid the price for those who, shet thier tears at the loss of monther, father, husband, wives and brothers and sisters of those who have sacrificially fought the battle with the real dignity of gurkha spirit.
The face of war is always brutal and nasty but one has to accept the reality. This now has been paid with new vision for new nepal with free, sovereign and autonomus contry in the world today.
We can show the world that we can independantly handle the situation for domestic issues like this.
We now have greater challenges a head, operational period is over now recovery needs smooth and delicate move to meet all the requirements to heal and progress and develop the shattered interest of people for a long time.
At the end, i request all medias and journalists to abstain from all imature thought and immculation speculative and assumptive remarks that can tear the delicate foundation.
And beloved citizen of nepal should set a side all the differeneces and move together in unity which is the strength of the nation.
At this time all the corners are delicate and adversaries will try to attack in the precurative period of newly born republic democratic country.
Remember this adversary wanted to turn this to a battle field and graveyard that was demanding massive blood shed.
No less price than could have brought this peace dea, rather the spirit of nepal that loved this country who fought to the finish.
Gread day to all and promissing future to all.

And for the Nepali people I want to say one thing…………. creater of ‘Nepal’ as a ‘Chaar Jaat Chattis Barna ko Sajha Fulbari’ and the name ‘Nepali’ in which we are proud now, this thing we have got from Shah Dynisty not from this so called leaders or from any others………., as a creater ‘Shah Dynisty’ is the father and we have removed our father from home and we are celebrating the day by giving the name ‘Ganantra’ thats good. But in the mean time I want to remind you ‘Democracy’ and ‘Ganantra’, this is only for the ill minded so called leaders not for the people like us, so there’s nothing to be so happy unless and untill new generation will not take over, but till that time it’ll too late………

One of the comments has stated that “now we are free”…Freedom is not free, my friend. It is the greatest challenge a nation can face, because it puts each and every one of us in a position of responsibility. Notice that I said “responsibility” and not duty. Our duty is to do those things that are good and right for the country as a whole. But more importantly, we should have a deep feeling of responsibility to ourselves because we have created an atmosphere of hope and opportunity, and therein lies the true power. There is no place for thinking of “me” any longer. There is only room for “we” in a republic. That change of one alphabet letter, and what it means, is what can change Nepal for the better.

PM like a leach, dont want to leave the chair and political situation turning into such that foreigners particularly Indians, like Sood started playing political game in our land. It looks he is the boss and our leaders (Mr.Prachanda, Dr. Baburam, Mr.Girija and Upendra Yadav) are like dhoke, baithake and chamche. It is not others but our political parties itself welcoming Indians to interfere in our politics by creating favourable environment and allowing them. Our leaders consulting Indian ambassador in bed room, meeting room or in hotel to form our Government, SHAME SHAME. Does Indian PM or President meets Nepali Ambassador to form their govt?? No doubt, if it goes on, tomorrow Indians will be heading our parliament. SHAME SHAME to our leaders for creating such situation, from the begining of republic day. SHAME to all colourful republican heads for their cheering. We will have to regret within few days to come.

– Our leaders are riding the Lauxirious Car but for normal people in Kathmandu can’t buy a Petrol , disel because the people we selected are not capable to deliver, think of it we live in capital but still we are cut of from 10 hrs of electricity.

Namaset to all *** Citizens of Nepal
Nepal was not in need of Republic or what so ever called janatantrik ganatantra… Nepal was well prescribed under the regim of His Majesty Shah Dynasty. I still wonder what kind of democracy does nepali people want?? I guess to move, walk, speak, work anytime anywhere etc. in a legal and human way is democracy, was there in nepal even when there was no name of republic or janatantrik ganatantra. Nepal was like a family and His Majesty was only the head of all. I really donot recall any moment wherein I or my pals have been bard or stopped of doing something legally. In the year 2046 BS nepal was declared as multiparty democratic rule, but what after? All citizen of Nepal were so happy to bring the multiparty democratic rule in Nepal and their happiness ended with sun goes down. It is said that Nepal is in still under curse of Sati, who so ever does good or want good in nepal doesnot exists long. Actually if we put a question what is Republic or so called ganatantra to our Janta´s i guess 75% would say i dont know,15% answer the word they have listened in radio or television remaining 10% who are politically engaged with the political parties would give the answer that is aslo into different variation. Being Multiparty Democratic in the year 46´ why didn´t the ruling governtment didn´t made any smiles in the face of those citizen. It has come to known that Citize’s tax shouldn’t be missused giving King annual 70 million and is good to pay 601 CA members many hundred millions. I am really very sorry for those citizen of Nepal who are celebrating Republic, painting their face, throwing fliers or blowing party flags, as if they are going to cheer any of the football team. Hardly one can see national flag in those carnival it proves that the ‘Republic has come only for the Political Parties not for the nation or the citizen.’
One day people would understand the mean of Republic in Nepal and would cry for the King ruling the country once again and I am sure this historic day would certainly come after some 3-4 years. Well my wishes to all Nepali Citizen who has voted for Republic Nepal, may you all be true and I be wrong but still to be seen what yours choosen leaders would do for you.

there is nothing to be that happy .. these are the same people who are in power.
and to be developed or happy or posperous there is no need to be GANATANTARA. watch around, the most developed countries in the world still got Kings.

Can someboy say what Nepalese people have achieved by the declaration of republic ? Maoists have acheived their political slogan into reality. Can they automatically deliver anything by achieving republic. Many times Nepalese people have become fool in the past and this time also, they will be so by celebrating republic. Nepali people always go more by sentiments than the reality. It proves that they have still to suffer and they will. When there is no king in th country, do you think people will be able to solve their problem easily. Actually I have this courage to say the typicality of Nepal has gone and I believe that Nepalese will feel pain in the future if not now by the republic setup because of which now they are enjoying. Really speaking, this enjoyment ‘khokro chha’. Nepali people have not yet received anything by this and will not get in th future.

King Gyanerndra was not upbrought for being a king. So he misused his power. it is for ure. But we must not forget that Gyanendra alone cannot represent the monarchy. We could have selected some other alternative like baby king or queen. Even we could have decided in favour of Himani, or grand-daughter of King Birndra as a queen. We did a grand mistake and we are enjoying for false reason. Nepali people I am sure, will regret it.

hi B. K. Shrestha!
I believe You belong to the YCL mouth piece, other then that In nepal nobody celebrating the replubic, come to nepal and visit the nepal, you will understand what the situation , people believe Maoist more then police, youth in nepal they do not have job so they will participate in all the mob who ever organised, we buy a petrol at rs 190 per liter, where official price, we already forgot, there is no regulation on anything, there is no grip of govt in any org.
hey Mr shrestha, You love nepal as i do , you have great faith in future that is really very good thing, you have great vision for nepal that is really appreciated. but we here in nepal , everybody want to go to aboard as you do, nobody want and do anything everybody has plan for US, CANADA, UK or Australia, now days even Afaganistan or Iraq because nobody believe they can cope with the situation in nepal or they can survive with increasing inflation rate in nepal , even i am working in very good organisation , i had completed my engineering from reputed indian university and came to serve nepal , but the situation is not like that, nobody want to listen, everybody has their own view and version of story, you have also have one …….
i believe it is another way to misleading poor nepali, by declearing republic…..it is no need of it.

I am surprised for what some Nepali people are so happy they think that they have got the Republic for the welfare of people if they think like that than they are one of the most fool than donkey what this people are expecting from this corrupt leader.
The leaders who has already sold the Mahakali now trying to give all main Hydro in the hand of India
The leader for their benefit who are ready to sell the country also.
The leaders who entertain our Nepali People to carry guns and make our country like battle field for 10 years.
The leader who do everything as per the instruction of India
The leader who make the people awareness to break the law and order of the country
The some Nepali people who think this leader will make new Nepal than again I don’t want to repeat the same word which I have already mentioned.
But in the mean time I want to make aware that after some year all the Nepali people will cry for this Republic Day and will celebrate this day as a black day.

Dear Shrestha!
Do you like to have a change for change. I never said the monarchy has given to Nepali people a lot. What I wanted to say is the monarchy has been a source of tradition, culture, peculiarity of Nepal. We could have changed the coutry in terms of its economic development with monarchy. However tradition/culture is also something that we should preserve.
When you said ‘change’ what do you mean by that? Do you laike to have a culture of blamming each other instead of humility, softness? I think you should not go by a slogan of change. The change should be for the betterment of the people of the country. Do you thing that is automatically achieved by the dawn of republic?

Dear editor,
I am sorry to say that you have stopped me to write here, at least it seems to me. My postings have been deleted by you which is unfortunate and regrettable. Of course, I know you reserve such right for you. But this is a clear case of misuse of authority. You are violating other’s right to freedom of expression. Actually Mr. shrestha used offensive language to other friends including me through his posting. You did not notice it. I am always against using such language towards anybody although he or she uses so for no reason. Through these words, even now I don’t use undesirable language even to you who intentionally deleted my postings giving no reason for the same. If it is so, why somebody will be interested to participate in your forum Mr. editor? Do you want only those to participate who write and post here as per your wish? You delete every other posting which you don’t like? This seems absurd. Good bye.

I fell for you from the very start. With just a smile, you claimed my heart. Now I intend to let you know every day; I want to make you mine in every way, because I you.

Why the Great Britain still has Queen, the Japan has Emperor, Brunei has Sultan & Thailand has King? Australia, New Zealand & Canda still honor Queen of England and those countries are so civilized and stronger economically (atleast far better off than us) and they can’t get rid of off their majesties because the people they don’t want to. So why only Nepal & Nepalese people hate the Kingship? Is this a family feud or just a Jealousy…???
If you are too proud to be Nepalese please help those Nepalese in need of help in Bhutan & in Darjeeling currently, they need help & Nepalese voice…they really need your help at this moment…

For Mr. Shrstha I want to say one thing for your word change, you always used the word change can you explain me what does it mean as i live in Kathmandu for long time and i know about your newari calture and i repect your culture also in same way as a nepali we have some culture and Royal Family and Royal Palace one part of our nepai culture so if you think you are responsible citizen of Nepal than try to respect the hindu culture.
In the name of change don’t forget your culture you are proud to say Neapli only because of this Shah Dynasty and i think your family are also proud to say that they are Nepali isn’t it so don’t forget this. Country has to be changed economically but the tradition should not be changed we have to keep some space for tradition and culture. Millions of people comes to Nepal as a toursit but they always asked the tradition and culture of Nepal not your Politic Change.

My dear friends!
Why everybody is keeping mum? Please tell something in favor of your ‘great Gantantra’. I will be happy to reply your question.
Don’t forget that I am not in favour of absolute king. Ceremonial king was my agenda. I was failed by the parties which only favor Republic perhaps for their own interest rather than for public interest. People have no option as every party was favoring Republic, so people did not get any option. There should have been Referndum for the issue. It seems that Nepalese people have long way to go for their country’s stability. I am really fade up by the activities run by these parties. Parties never have long term vision, and are guided by shortsightedness. But here people’s interest is being sacrificed without giving appropriate opportunity for them whether they want monarchy to stay or go. Really sad!

Shut the mouth and work only to achieve…. (Contd.)
What I intended to say using the above expression is “less speech and more work”. In my personal opinion, our leaders appear to be the most Rhetoric in the world.
I do apologize if the above expression was interpreted in another way. However, I still do not agree with the version of monarchy for the betterment of people’s life. It has to be wiped out completely…!!!

Federal Democratic Republic-all rubbish. In the name of peoples’ mandate, political parties are working like a syndicate. Peoples are suffering more these 3 years than Gyanendra’s 1.5 years direct rule. Everywhere there is corruption, political leadership are corrupt, ministers’ are corrupt, bueraucracy is corrupt, so-called civil society corrupct (ethically).
Do you believe? during his these around 3 years’ tenure, Sitaula earned 37 crore, Mahat earned 32 crore, sujata earned 26 crore……there is long list of corrupt ministers and officials. This is the golden age for corruption in Nepal. Innocent Peoples are being victimized, in terai many peoples are being killed, women are being raped. Butchers are ruling the country.
Sorry to say-even country’s souvereingty is in stake. We are proceeding towards 18 th century when there were 22 se and 24 se entities. Prithivi Narayan was foolish-Girija and Prachanda are the wisest among nepalese.
All are playing in the hand of RAW. Nepal-next Sikkim?

Dear Mr. shrestha,
Thank you for your latest posting. You have every right to express your view on ‘Republic’. The only thing is that we have to cultivate a habit of giving expression based on logic or evidence. My view is that Republic itself is not going to give anything to Nepali people. But monarchy was representing Nepal’s tradition, culture, its ownness that differentiate Nepal with other country. People are saying the integration of the country also is the contribution og monarchy. In the past kings could have done mistakes. But ceremonial king will have no option to do wrong. Perhaps you have heard that ‘king can do no mistake’. However, absolute king can do mostake. That’s why I also don’t like absolute king.

I don’t understand WHY people in Nepal are so happy about NEW NEPAL!!!
All the bloody politicians are inconsiderate are corrupted and there is NO difference in Old or New Nepal.
Welcome to so called NEW NEPAL-
- Oil price gone up
- Transport price gone up
- Food price gone up
- No Jobs
- Pollution, I don’t have to tell you
- Unemployement gone up
- People are desperate to leave country (no control)
- People are fedup with Maoist trying to resolve this issue with other parties
- Nepal Arilines have only one international flight (what a f&%$ing shame)
- Power – don’t be suprise if someone lock you up in the toilet, if minister can do it then why not an ordinary people?
- No security in and outside valley, people are still scared to live their normal life
- People are beaten to death by YCL and Maoist (Ram Hari Shrestha was killed by Maoist and they have taken the responsibility)
- I guess there are now thousands of small parties who have power to shutdown Nepal, chakka jam, haadtal etc. Non of the parties are interested to resolve their issue before they take these action.
AND SO ON………………………………
I am a fedup Nepali guy who still trying to figure out why people are so exicted about NEW NEPAL…!!!!!!!!!!

Lets see…all good and bad goes to these leaders….althouth “New Nepal”, “Republic” , “Federal Nepal” whatever…whatever names are given but the poor people are suffering from the massive price hike, insecurity, lack of law and order etc. etc. Till now no one knows where our country is heading at althogh big speeches and assurances to very poor peoples are coming….

After Reading so much of hot discussion on politics by the people who claim themselves to be non political people, I remember one saying that “if you are not willing to join politics, you should be ready to be governed by bad people”.
Just blaming is not the solution, everybody has right to join politics and drive the country. A political party is a school of thought, if you donot believe on existing, you can create one more and drive the country. Why blames only??? Let’s work and not just blame on others
