Fascinating Gulmi’s Resunga and Ridi
By Rajesh KC
Gulmi district, a part of Lumbini zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of

Holy place of the region, Resunga is one of the most beautiful hills to visit in
I along with my friends had a great opportunity to have a memorable overnight stay at the Yagyashala’s dormitory. Though we crashed the Yagyashala at midnight at around 11:30, Yogis shown us a great hospitality and prepared food whatever they have. We dinned rice and Gundruk (dried vegetable’s soup) – very tasty!

It is claimed that the most famous temple here, the Rishikesh Mandir, was established by Mukunda Sen, King of Palpa. The temple underwent several renovations and its original shape has been changed.

Great photos.
Are you sure the last photo of the river is Kali gandaki? The water is clear and to me it does not look like Kali gandaki.
Again thank you for the spectacular photos.

Hello Phalano. Thank you so much.
I jumped myself with heartfelt happiness, with your great pictures.
One nation, one Nepali and one one faith with God.
Present politics and politicians are being great obstacles and biggest barrier
to preserve this haven peace in Nepal under the shadow of Himalayas.
People working in foreign land are really fade off with daily destructive news and unsuccess efforts of 7 parties to bring the nation in peace.
Forget all worst part of past and give chance to all and every Nepali to participate

i had heard about Gulmi district.. heard alot about Reshunga and Ridi and tamghas.. i never got a chance to visit the place and experience it on my own.. but u made me willin to do that very soon..
welll done brother…hope to see much more places of nepal…
and one thing i want from u is Descriptions.. true pictures speak more words than words themselves but if u describe the photos in a bit details (whatever details u can furnish) the excitement will last more coz it take more time to read the description than scrollin thru the fotos.. so if u manage to write at least some 3-4 lines about the foto, the time we spend on each foto will increase considerably…
hope u entertain my wishes..
best of luck..

I had long wanted to go to Resunga but due to insurgency I was scared??? Then later then I moved to Australia and it has still remained my dream to go there. But for the meantime, I would like to thank you for all the beautiful pictures and information about Resuga and Ridi. Hope to see that serene place in near future.

hi Rajesh jee!
Gulmi district, as we say that a part of lumbini zone, is one of the most beautiful district above all the 75 districts in Nepal. As we say about tamghas, its a beautiful city also known as district headquarter. It has a beautiful historical values such as resunga’s temples, dhagithum mandir, tamghas bhagawati mandir and we wont forget the values of ridi. But some cases, its behind, coz of infrastructure.

Everytime I see the pictures from Nepal, I feel a lump in my throat.
The serenity of the places, the tranquility of the mountains, the innocence of the people, the breezes in terai, the deserted villages…..
Oh ! I don’t have words to express. My imagination of the places contrasts the reality and suddenly I relinquish my frustration and vent my anger.
I love the places like you all do.
Thanks Phalano.

Thank You ! Very nice presentation ! Good job done.
My earnest request :-
1) Pls provide exact location (Geographical) and the way, how to reach there !..
2) Important Places to visit. Places / Hotel to stay.
3) When to visit ?
4) What precaution to be taken ?
Then only people (from nearby area and outside) will be interested to visit. consequently, things will only improve (Locally) when flow of tourist will begin !
Just scrolling down pictures and viewing will not bring any change on the ground level ?
Hope ! everyone understood my motives.
Once again thank you !

Rajesh Ji,
Thanks for lovely pictures. It took me back to by birth place. I was born on the foot hill of Resunga (Gulmi Parlami). Every year me with my whole family used to visit Resunga on Ekadashi , Saune Aunsi… back then there was no chance of 4 wheeler so we use to walk for 3 to 4 hours and return back home at the evening. I did my school up to 4th grade in Tamghash. I use to walk from this place to Palpa just to get bus to Kathmandu where I went school later on. once again thanks for taking me back to my childhood where I always dream of visiting once in my life time not sure when?
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Rajesh!
My home is also at Gulmi. I wondered by these nice photos. I can give some location to reach Gulmi (Tamghash) if anyone want to reach.
1) You must reach Butwal at first.
2) Then you can go Palpa, a nice city to visit.
3) Crossing Palpa you will reach Ridi bazzar which is very beautiful naturally.
4) Then you will reach Shringa (nice place where Shringa Temple lies).
5) Tamghash is about 35 km far from Shringa.
6) You can reach Resunga about half an hour by trekking from Tamghash.
You can choose summer season for travelling. There is no risk to go there. But road is narrow from Palpa to Tamghash. So care it for self driving.
My home is at Hardineta V.D.C.-3, Kundar. You can reach there from Shring within 20 minutes by jeep. Thank you.
Lots of thanks for Rajesh K.C.

Hi Rajesh Ji,
Pretty good job, which i highly appreciated. as i was born and grown up in Gulmi but currently in Dubai.
Due to ongoing violence and conflict in the nation, day by day our country is plunging into crisis and due to the same reason we are forced to sideline from gulmi to horizon far for the sake of money. But everybody has to understand that it’s not our wish but again it’s our compulsion.
Today while throwing my first glance to this site i got taken aback seeing inchanting views of Gulmi which evoked my by gone days.
Again many thanks for you effort and would appreciate more if we could get chance to view some picture from Shantipur.
Kindest Regards,
Surya Krishna Shrestha

The issue of the preservation of Nepali nationalism should be accorded top priority as “formidable threats” were visible which if not handled with care on time, Nepal as a nation-state might even cease to exist. “Nationalism and democracy can’t be separated…both must go together”, I warned that if Nepal is to have various federal states as demanded by some political parties and endorsed by the Madhav government prior to the CA poll, then the next step would be the country’s disintegration for sure and thus federal system must not be adopted. By adopting the federal system, Nepal can not change itself overnight into Switzerland as is expected by some. THINKING GOOD DOING BAD,

I thank you for coming in my life. I’ve never been this happy and inspired in my whole life until you came. I can count on you for everything, talk to you even if it’s nothing…and so much more… You believe in me and make me accomplish things simply. You stand by me. I love you. I cant imagine how my life goes if I haven’t met and have you. You know, I have many failures in life and I regret all of those mistakes, but there’s one thing I never regret, its when I accept your invitation to go with you that day. It’s the beginning of everything. Everything that seems like a dream. I would never forget that day when we met. I treasured it, for all of my life. I love you. Even though failures and mistakes surrounded and covered me, I still have one great success… One dream comes true. Its you… Thank you. You know you are the best thing ever happened to me..
I love you so much…
