Clear skies in the Valley

Posted in Travel & Places at 12:26 by www.PHALANO.com

For a week Nepal had cloudless blue skies starting from November 15 (2007). Kathmandu illuminated under the mountain range from Dhaulagiri to Gaurishanker. Mets said the clear skies in Nepal are due to a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. When the skies are clear in the Valley, 80% of the Himalayan range can be seen from Lalitpur area.

My only suggestion is that besides, Dhaulagiri, only other 8000 metre peak visible from Kathmandu is Shisha Pangma. Rajesh could include this peak next time. Even though the peak is situated in China side, it is very beautiful and visible from the valley. Thanks,

You have done a fantastic job by taking these excellent photos. I realise how hard it was for you to travel around the valley to take these shots. It is very easy to watch them but to capture them in the way you have done is mind blowing and we must be proud of having a professional photographer like you in Nepal. Congratulations and we are very proud of you. Go ahead and we wish you all the best for your bright future as a photographer.

fabulous pictures of the evening we spent together on Kot Danda.
My pictures on the Canon didn’t come out as well. Your work is that of a
    master! Congratulations.

You may want to add that the mountain to the right of Himalchuli is
Manaslu. To the left of Dorje Lakpa is Dome Blanc. The moon is rising
behind Choba Bhamare. And that fantastic time exposure of the plane is
Buddha 404 from Nepalganj making a Dharke approach via Bharatpur arrival
to runway 02 in Kathmandu. The plane has just made a 2 DME procedure turn
to line up with the runway. Let’s have more of these spectacular pictures!

I “m happy to see this beautyful himalays pictures and thousands of brightening light bulbs in the capital valley ,it”s looks beautyful ,and you are doing great job i appriciate for it, but here i want to mention that we are the poor people and we are from one of the poorest country in the world, this is the naked truth of our current identity.
who are we? ,and what is our country status in the world?
how many countries knows about our country?
only few asian countries knows about nepal, and some western countries, but also they knows our country situation too.
prevention is—- kick the dirty ass of all corrupted ***.This is the real truth that in this past 10 years maoist are the 90% responsible to make our country poor and to bring our country in this situation. Now our responsible is that we need to elect new leader and to fight for our rights and to make “NAYA NEPAL”.
The real truth is that even we cannot and able to pick up all dirty trashes from the kathmandu valley, that is the shyiest things i had never seen in other countries, and we don”t hesitate to say proudly that we are from himalays and buddha borning country and we have a mount everest and we are the hindu.
please if you can or if it is possible please try to show our weaknesses too, otherwise if we always watch himalayas and light bulbs of only kathmandu valley , the days are not so far to face situation like Ethopia, somalia.

What about a campaign to close all government and non-government offices and businesses including schools and colleges for Saturday and Sunday – two days in a week. All over the world office, business and schools open for five days in a week and they work fine – why not in Nepal? At least for two days in a week all the dust and pollutant are able to settle down.

I am wondering why the majestic scene from Nepal is not marketed as printed or digital posters in the global market. makets in and out country, we can find posters of mountains and scenic beauty from other countries plentily , why not it should be Nepali scenic beauty be made plentily availabel in posters, postcards in global market? Rajesh Jee as well as some other enterpreneur can explore this potential global market for asthetic Nepali beauty.

Another concern is also on provision of the downloadble Screen Saver showing the beautiful scenic . mountain and himalyan landscape with thematic titles. I am sure that several viewer would love to download and distribute among friends in global network to install in their computer.

    Just food for thought.

    HI Rajesh ji,

Your third picture “Mt Ganesh from Harisiddhi, Lalitpur” almost sums it all up.

Nature has given us so much, but look at what we humans have done on the ground. Our city is a mess on the ground, so much chaos, disorganization, and pollution.

Tourists would not want to come to Kathmandu when they see the reality on the ground. Besides we cannot see such beautiful views everyday. Why not start an abhiyaan to make people realize that they live in a beautiful city and they can each contribute in their own small way to make it more beautiful. After all we are the ones who get the most benefit. So many jobs can be created if more tourists would come here. And we all will be healthier if we can breathe clean air.

Then we need to tell the people in government to make and enforce laws against mindless construction carried out without proper permits, clean up the city, promote electric vehicles, have better and cleaner public transport, cut down air-pollution from industries, etc. Hope these pictures will inspire them. Why not arrange a workshop…..call the people in the planning commission and ministries and ministers and show them these pictures. Ani hope that uniharuko ghainto ma gham lagla.

Aru ke bhannu……..it seems like right now nothing can happen until the politicians get their demands fulfilled.

All the pictures are great and manifest a good harmony with nature and it’s beauty. There is no reason for not to be pride being a Nepali even though we are roaming all around the planet for the shake of better future which was not possible for those like me in our own country. It is not abnormal for the ordinary nepalese citizen to be deprived from the equal opportunities since the country itself is suffering from the mafia’s leadership from past to present. They (the certain individuals who are close to the power) are holding the entire cake, they eat it first, share it within their families and the rest, they sell it in cash for their own benefit. The Rana and shah’s ruling families twisted our destiny for a long time, and now for some year, the very corrupted politicians and the bureaucrates are shuckking the blod of the poorests of the poor.
    *** ***
They put the human values under shadow destroying our nature (himalayas) where we can make the beautiful photoes like Rajeshji made. I am sad and tired, sorry!
