Here comes…Dashain
By Rajesh KC
After a few days of cloudy skies and frequent rain in Nepal, the snowy mountains appear golden on Wednesday evening (Oct 17, 2007). It was the first clear skies over Nepal in the post-monsoon season. These scenes, including pigeons and planes, were captured from Harisiddhi of Lalitpur covering range from Ganesh Himal to Gaurishankar Himal experiencing a pleasant weather of Dashain, one of the country’s biggest festivals.

HAPPY BADA DASHAIN !

Very impressive photographs with lots of hidden message. Combination of
pigeon and the plane with the panoramic views of Nepal was enough to make everyone understand that peace will slowly but surely appoaching in our beloved country, after so much of political and economical turmoil. I know many might have expected different pictures of “Dashain” with all the celebrations but this pictures gave message of today’s reality. All those who are suffering have no dashain except tears in their eyes with emptiness. we don’t know what tomorrow brings but lets hope for the new Nepal with peace and prosperity. God bless Nepal…Puran Rai

Magnificent.Great pictures.Amazingly beautiful Nepal.
However,I must say the newly built concrete boxes against the background of beautiful Himalaya look ugly,an eye sore.
Traditional Nepalese houses look so nicely conforming to the background and surrounding landscapes.
Could we have an aesthetic sense? Even if we build concrete houses , why not with pagoda style/sloping roofs.
Let us not spoil our beautiful country by creating ugly structures.
Many thanks to K C jee. P RAI

Happy Dashin to you and all Nepali around the world.
It is always wonderful and delightful to see the beauty of our country. You did a very great job to picture that and reminds us, no matter where we are, we are still proud to called Nepali and about Nepal.
I hope this big festival and Goddess Durga Mata will bring peace to all of us.
Once again thank you very much to publish such a vivid picture of true Nepal to world ;)

Dear Rajesh,
I have always wanted to thank you through this page for your superb job and outstanding photojournalism as a true fan. Needless to say, how many times I have visited PHALANO.COM to appreciate your work, I am, perhaps one of the millions always waiting for your new venture.
On the auspicious occasion of Bada Dashain, my family and I wish you and all the Nepalis in home and outside home a very prosperous, successful and peaceful Dashain.
However, I have some tangled and unanswered questions for you. Why and how did you choose the snow picked mountains around Kathmandu and Pokhara area to represent Dashain instead of rato tika nidharma or jamara or Khasi- Boka bali bhayeko or roteping in villages or even Babache, Dariwal or other Changas.
Perhaps mine, yours and millions of other Nepalis in and outside the country have one thing in mind¦ Dashain Nepali maatrako ho ani Himal le Nepal ra Nepaliko pahichan garaunchha.
After almost two decades out of home, you really brought me home for this Dashain. Thanks Rajesh.

U did not choose best title for it . It does not mean same thingsfor any terai born person for ” Here comes Dashian “. as much as I remember i never saw Himal from my home town in any time of year so it does not remind me ” here comes dashian ” . yee, i can feel for KTM born guy , I had same feeling for dashain coming ” himal , jyapu music around mandirs , pleasan weather .” in ktm but in terai.
U title is not well adressed to whole naplease around 147181 sq.km.
be consius , next time , while choosing title.please involve everyone .

Dear Rajesh jee
Thanks for nice picture. Our country is really beautiful but our corrupt leader and corrupt view of our parties has caused to let us in poor world. Lets join hand and think for our country. Your one day’s contribution per month for 10 years will help to develop our nation who resides abroad. Similarly, people resides in Nepal have to contribute one day per week for above mentioned period. I am sure, if we succeed to contribute with committment, we will have opportunity to be proud of Developed nation.
May be I am extremist in thinking, but I would be happy lead this efforts volunteerily for whole period.
Raise up your hand to develop our nation ourselves.
