Excellent in all respect. However, more indigenous dress representation would have made a powerful impact.Nepal has lots to offer in indigenous fashion. It would be much better to encourage our own Nepali dress to represent various ethnic groups. It might pave the way for export.Somehow western fashion does not seem to go well with Nepali physique and personality.

In our globalize world where clashes of civilization in rampant and Nepal is no different. Apparently, such pop-cultures seem to be flourishing rapidly within Nepal through copying from the outside world. When looking into Nepali culture with the lens of ethnics and social structures, one wonders whether a fast adaptation of outside norms and values is beneficial to Nepal or not? If it is beneficial, which I believe it is, then why would not various development model is working for Nepal and Nepali. As we know that being trap into such pop-cultures might be hindering Nepali youth™s potential growth in their daily lives. This might create false hope for many leading them to be trap into material world. Through false notions to many youths throughout the country might face various ill behaviors like violence, higher consumption of illegal drugs and alcohol, trafficking individuals for sexual exploitation. This is something we need to ponder, without our youths, Nepal™s futures looks undesirable. Saying that, I really love seeing pictures, which reminded me how much I miss my country and my youth. Quite a fair approach. You demonstrate strategic and creative thinking. However, you might have developed the following to better outcome: colour effects, *anatomical structural of the models, uniqueness to the design (By which folks recognize you by yr work not by yr invitation card) for instance: Rozer Piano in architectural sector, *Picasso in painting and Norah Jones in music.
Ref for improvement: 1. Nicole Miller for anatomical structure. 2. Jill Stuart 3. Heatherette 4. Bree Haward for traditional mix
*need improvement to fouth from the last model to get perfect anatomical result for that paticular design.
If you need to talk to me pls write and I will then reply you straight back.

Not bad all those copy cat show’s such as modeling, fashion, beauty contest etc… However, I requested to use own creative or zelf made producs, or whatever, shows are creating or producing, otherwise , Nepal is helping only richer for foreign countries by importing foreign goods and products!!!
Hope any one in future, whatever they creats, that they use or prioritize nepali made products so that Nepal can export whatever it may be, instead of importing or just functionioning as a “market” for ohter countries….
Hope Nepal become one day country of INTERPRENER!!!!

it’s okay but models need more flexibility in their body.Body structure is not soo good just kamchalau. They need more exercise.we need such a beautiful lady like Usha khadgi but she is soo fat.i don’t like exposure style .it’s my view.

Since, the programme has been organises by a foreign company, it is sure to influence on the way of presentation. But it would have been more better if there were flavour of our own origin like the mixture of Chaubandi cholo and Dhaka stuffs. By the way, Nepali models are beautiful!!!

In Nepal, We do not see country infrastructure development like (1) Roads (2) Electricity (3) Bridges (4) Drinking water (5) Long zone to zone Transportation (6) Business Market Places (7) consumer goods Industries….. But We can see un-countable things like fashion show, concerts, night clubs, prostitutions and grouping driking party organize.
If we can not do country development things, at least we should not encourage these bad things for society and especially country like Nepal. We should take Nepal and society toward Right direction from the beginning before too late to fix.

Thank god, at least we women don’t have to go spend our money in India and/or other countries. We can purchase designer clothing from our own Nepali shops.
I agree that many of us who are not living in Nepal prefer to see Nepali pictures reflecting Nepali cultures and places. However, is that plausible ,everytime, in this new globalized world ? How long can we ignore the fact that Nepal and Nepalese are changing with the world. We ourselves came away from Nepal b/c we couldn’t get what we wanted in Nepal. After all, can above bloggers who dare to give negative views on these pictures dare to walk around the city of KTM, in parties and occasions etc., wearing typical Nepali regional clothings?
With due respect to our culture and costumes.

I am so impressed with the some of the models qualities (face, body shape in particular) could contest in the international level. I am always disappointed with the models photoes posted in other nepali website are not so upto the standard of being model. Those models in the nepali model watch websites, have cute face, some of them even have a lump of fat hanging out of belley, not even single quality of being model.
The models here are very impressively dressed. The dresses must have been prepared very delegiently and they must be expensive too. One thing I am so dissappointed is, one particular photo, you can see the panty linear (owful bridget Jones type panty). I bet the panty used must have been from the street shop of Sundhara or somewhere very cheap. One can argue that what’s wrong with that? To me, everything should be leveled in order to get the best out of it. the models are the finest, the dresses are the finest. One little thing that panty, which has degraded the finest taste of all. Oh! don’t blame me of being panty looker. It is very obvious and watchful eyes like mine can’t simply ignore. It should have spent money on so called the G’string panty which one hardly can spot if panty is wearing at all. Again, if the money is the factor, Fine! what about not wearing panty at all.
I am particular refering to the lady in blue next to the lady on red model.
Anyway, little things like this, improved, sure the nepali models/ nepali fashions will rock the world.

It’s good to see good fashion show, I liked colourful make up on models but can’t say something with cloth they are too Indian for my liking. What is wrong with out indigenous clothing? Why can™t Nepali designer design decent cloths which reflect our coulter and tradition. Most of the models are good however I think should not have even a single fat model (one of the model has such big tummy which is sticking out), it brings down standard of all other models.

This is definitely a far cry from most of the Nepali models I was used to seeing. With our varied cultural/ethnic heritage still unexploited, the resource is unlimited for modeling business. This is great and a good springboard to document different aspect of “Nepali pana” through the lense of camera, beauty and art. Artistic creativity has no bounds and I can see it flower and prosper take it’s own shape in the near future if it is still not in the open already.

Create a fashion that has a possibility to be a classic, as in Saree. Create variations or a new style to the look and feel of saree, not that its not being done already. As well as some modifications or slight twist to other ethnic dresses of Nepal might introduce new trend. Though the attires introduced should not have drastic mind blowing looks, it has to be gradual because fashion changes have always been gradual never drastic, especially to accomplish a classic status, but one of a kind art-to-wear dresses can be as creative and as mind blowing as a designer wishes.

I am really very much impressed by the show. Anybody who is talking about about Nepali dress in this fashion comment I have question how many of you are really wearing Nepali dress? How many of you are wearing Daura Surwal, Sari Patuki, Bakkhu, Dhoti etc. This is the begining of Nepali fashion show let it florish, see the next one. If anybody does not like Bollywood style, copy Hollywood style, can you do it? You don’t want to do it? Why?

I believe “Sunsilk Fashion Week 2006″ was successful and it’s time to move on to Internationl level. Since our models are nice looking, Tall, nice figure, full of talented and they have excellent perfomence quality so why not? In my personal opinion they just need true guidance and effort who can lead them to the peak of Mount Everest.
Some of them said will they (our culture/society) accept the fashion show? In our gaon ghar? I must say – Dude we are now in 2006 not 1947 Raj Kapoor or Nargis time. Open you mind and see the world.

Nepal is undevelopement country and back ward country and also 90% man are not educational so here they are not understanding. but other country are development and all people are educational so that we are not success to takeing forward to fashion between other country and our country may be defficult to do compete it . i hope that we will be compute with another country and sometimes we will be get it. importance matter is that we are not think fashion is body business.

When they visit Nepal they will be the ones whose gonna put up pretense of their dresses they bought in Milan, London, New York etc..
And why do people have to comment when they don’t even know the difference between export and import??? ( hahahahaha) Just check it out.

if my memory serves me right, there has not been much of a change in our so-called fashion designing especially in Kathmandu, in particular and Nepal in general. It’s been the assembled stuff from different version. The thrust towards the originality is yet to come into limelight though!!!!!!!!!
Would like to see guys and girls in kathmandu wearing these and trotting around. That would be the ultimate moment to test the fashion and it’s followers in Nepali context.

All fashion is copied, all garments have been made before at one time or another in history. It is how you combine elements, the small nuances, the color choices that make fashion unique. The point is to make beautiful clothes, and those I saw above. All industries start by copying to a certain extent, in the US our clothes looked very much English up until the 19th century. Over time your countries signature will come out in the fashion industry of Nepal. If you force it too much then you will create clothes that everyone exclaims over, but nobody buys. In the end, fashion must enhance the beauty and the strength of the person, but it must not overwhelm the person.

The fashion shows merely proffessionalize in Nepal since 5-10 years. It is impressionable for the modernized people normally who leaves in city area. The dress wore by the girl on the counting no. 7 from start is more impressive than others and I liked also because that’s mine favourite color but all has their significance on their clothes quality , personal attitude, dressing style, physics of models and the suitable weather . The definition of “fashion ” has today announced as the nudeness of , basically the female models who appears with short and excited dressup. But don’t describe the fashion as like this . This depends on the people attitude who take it as normal and appropriate for watch , they only take and share with others.

Fashion show in Nepal is common now a days it is the best way for the male and female to show its body and good business for business man. I am not agreed with the system that most of the uses thing in the event are import for contestants. Why they have to show if the things are not made in the country.
In second hand there are a lot of beauty in the countryside who do not have access to show the thing they are more beauty than the urban showers. So that if we want to make our identity as a Nepali we most stop such a faction show and invest such huge amount for the peoples welfare

Nepali originality should be maintained, because in nepali culture, there is creativity, expression and beauty.
Why do Nepali models not put on tika on their forehead????? Just a colored point on the forehead elevates their beauty with so much Nepali uniqueness and safeguard our originality as against the European American pop culture (which is rotten; women have no beauty beacause of what they wear)
Why do Nepali models not wear our ethnic dresses?

I hate to see Nepalese sisters in these sort of clothes especially when the dresses they are wearing never seem matching with their lumpy bellies and couchy legs. Are not there ladies with more beautiful figure in our country? Or is it like they have also been selected on the basis of nearness and dearness?. Muslim ladies in Gulf countries look way way better and more attractive in their black, plain ‘Burkas’ even hiding 95% of their body parts in comparision to these Nepalese sisters with max. 59% of covered body. However my ‘ hats off” to the effort to make them walk in front of so many for I don’t know what reasons. But still a lot of homework and hard work is needed.

yes! I say Yes , Nepalese fashion now trying to reach all over the country as well as out side the country and I say it’s good ambition too but the fashion show must be that way where the little cities and villages of our country like and accept it. try not only target the big cities like kathmandu, pokhara, dharan biratnagar, think about the countryside aswell. I mean the gaaunle guys and girls should not be excluded, if you win there choice then it will be the great achievement of your show, afterwards you will feel the mulch on your profession. good photography thoug!!!!!!!! improving……try to enhance….

In fashion shows our traditional dresses should be promoted. Of course models are pretty and if they get in to traditional dresses I am sure they will look much much better. This is the only way to promote our cultural and traditional dresses. By only exposing models in foreign dresses don’t really promote for anything from our nation. The main aim should be to promote domestic production and boom local related indutries.

In this field Nepal still not very much developed. It doesn’t I m mean I m giving bad image. If we campare with other nations Models then it looks like “Phikka Dal”. Coz Models are also play one of good roll model in our growing business.

Ram B chhetri, I think you don\’t want our country to be competitive with other countries. I don\’t whether you no or not, but we are almost 2 million years behind the developed nation. If you don\’t try to be like them, then that means we will never develop. This fashion show is a pretty good step to climb the ladder but its not enough. I don\’t know when you guys gonna start the bikini thing. Just think like a man of today not like a man of 2 million years ago. I don\’t know when our country will climb the real Sagarmatha. If you guys keep on involving our culture and traditions towards the development of our nation, then guys like you are responsible for its undevelopment. You guys don\’t wanna show what you have. I am proud to be a Nepali only because of its nature and different culture. Other than that everything sucks. If you guys keep on thinking like this then a day will come when no body would prefer to reborn in Nepal ever again. So, start showing what you have. I live in New York City and I know the taste of a stadard life and the meaning of development. I guess you guys will remain like this forever. The tail of dog is always curvy even though it is put under a big rock for 12 years. So, guys listen to me. Save our country to suck. If we want we can be like united states or any other developed country. After reading this whoever doesn\’t agree with me, that guy is either 1 billion years old or he mentally sucks. If you have any thing against it, email me at moitgo(at)hotmail.com if you don\’t want to save yourself from the great insult of your entire life. I pray for my country, Nepal. Thank You.

There are such beautiful outifts here, and I respect that you all love your country and your history, but maybe you should all try incorporating some of the Western aspects, as well as keeping up the traditional clothing.
I’m also AMAZED at the fact that the models look like real every day people. They aren’t horribly skinny like American and Canadian models are. Beautiful people, but real. Good job on communicating to the people that they can be beautiful in these clothes to, but don’t have to be a model to be so.

you should try to trace what is real what is true and not something which is virtual only then it would be really graceful .
I m in eleventh std i cant express a lot about this but atleast i can tell that it is imp to keep the theme in mind .

Actually, I perceived the models are somewhere from the streets of Mumbai or Lahore. They couldnot show their originality which can give wonderful picture of their own culture and fashion. I guess the designer and coriographer of this fashion show are just trying to copy others. They cannot be creative and successful on their own.
