Hope these pictures are not politically influenced!
Great to see the tradition is still in practice. Maoist rebels are requested not to ruin Nepalese– day to day life. Let them live their life.

    Good luck!

Dear Falano, Well done. Very Good job that mensioned very good tradition of paddy farming in Nepal. Before appearing of Communist in this world we had constantly existed this wounderful culture so Kamred Bamdev show of UML flag in rice cultivation areas added any meaning? I think it is use less to use the party flag in unnecessary spots. Kamred Gautam also not prepared for rice plantation because No Nepali go in the rice with SOFARI SUIT and SEIKO watch in wrist. Let learn to be simple as do all Nepali. Dear Falano, you are great. Go ahead and highlight such good works.

Seasonal greetings to all farmers in the photo and viewers. It seems that the photos reminded the people residing out of country about their season, culture and farming practices etc. Good work.

I don’t understand about displaying party flags in the farm field.

I appreciate Asian’s schools action to orient the student about farm practices but it seems that it was not planned ahead. If it is planned, then students could change their dresses for the practical works. It does not seems good that school uniforms be used for all kind of field works. Anyway, good initiation from school management/teachers.

i must admit, this is the picture i like most, i really missed the momet this time of the year in our country,….i am so much into pratical education, and this is one good example of that, our kids, they have to know , what is meaning of being a true farmer , and what it takes to grow a sack of rice.
i am sure, practice like this, will take place in other field of social life, i.e, involving those budding kids, in tree plantation, make them participate in cleaning premises of temples and so on, just to make them feel responsible and aware of thier heritage and all. its seems small step but take you long way.

Mouthwatering CHOILA, CEURAA RA CHANG that is what they have in their lunch menu. I wish I was there. I miss Krishna Mandir Ko CHOILA.

Beautiful photos, but the red flags are an eyesore. Last summer when I was in KTM I went for a morning walk from Jawalakhel to Bungmati several times. I was shocked to see how that area had changed. When I was a child I only had to walk for a few minutes to Ring Road to see paddy fields. But now a concrete jungle is all what you see. Relish the photos while you can. Urbanization of farmland has almost reached Bungmati.Sadly, Bungmati will not be Bungmati as wee see today in 10 years time.

I am very confused here. Is Asar 15 only for farmers in Kathmandu Valley(well, including bhaktapur and latlitpur)? If it is not, then, does the author do not have a means of transportation to travel in terai or some other regions where paddy is planted as well? Or the author does not know that farmers exist outside kathmandu Valley as well, and that they do plant paddies in their fields.
Thanks for the pictures but a token of mix(both terai and hills) would be much more eye pleasing.

It is nice to see such festival for the people of agricultural country like Nepal. That is our reality and which reminds us our culture and tradition. But i find there is nothing about Dahi-Chiura(Bitten Rice with Curd)the main aspect of that asadh 15.
It is good to see politicians on this ocassion.May be we thought that they have forgotten all these things which are replaced by Pajero and buildings in Capital.
It would have been better if u have put some photos from other parts of the country which shows the uses of ploughs and oxes.

The photos are great and I would like to know what one of the comments above means: “sayad bamdev le jastai sabai neta harule desko barema soche huntho. khusi lago ki chair ma base base kishan kopasina bageko na dekhna neta ropaima ¦¦¦¦.”

Especially, what does the word “kopasina” mean?

Ashar, the month which makes all farmers busy to plant paddy in their field. They dont bother about heat, rain or heavy cloud in the sky, they are determined to plant now and harvesting it in october. not only in the above pictures, but all over the country (where it is possible to plant paddy) all farmers are concentrate to do their best for getting good harvest. The much awaited constituent assembly election is going to be held in November 22. So the leaders of all political parties, concern authorities and the government also must have same concentration to make success the constituent assembly by not blamming to each others. The whole nation is waiting for the historical change and the will and aspirations of the Nepalese people can be fulfilled by the efforts of all. So, its time to forget personel or (parties) principles and join hand with all who wants truly to make a new Nepal…….
