Posted in Music at 00:32 by www.PHALANO.com

I know the then reputed singer , poet and politically duly very conscious human Manjul . I still have very nuch respect for him although I am aware that he committed some mistakes which were not expetcted of him given his people orieted and popular image and very excellent profile .

The two people , Ramesh and Manjul , are a legendary pair sons of Nepal who and started and led the campaign of dissemination of political consciousness among Nepali people during the dark period of the so-called Panchayat System in Nepal , by means of performance art ( song , music and poetry ) .

They deserve special respect , credit and fame among all of the conscious citizens of Nepal . They have paid the debts of and to mother Nepal . Of the pair , Ramesh deserves more respect and credit for his life-long effort and hardwork . They are the legendary , classic and superior most among the artists and literary workers in Nepal .

Manjul ! This is the famous name heared by me continuosly since I was deviated to listen musics and songs with close attention. No matter his songs are leaned to leftist or rightist, I appreciate this great figure to boil the bloods of youngs as well as old people. Anybody who listen his songs, blood veins get swollen with fast flow of blood and heartbeat goes higher with emotion. Manjul Dai , go further more higher targeting the vertex.

Our whole generation has been influenced by him, Ramesh and their group. No one can deny that he is one of the very few people in Nepal, who have caused havoc in people conscience and such a deep impact in the society. He was already sidelined, when I met him in a Pyongyang street in 1989. He was a traumatized but reformed rebel, who told me that it is a mistake not to sing songs of love. I remember those incredible days with him together, we were singing his simple yet meaningful popular songs to the small crowds of young people in the crowded streets of North Korean capital. Its impossible to forget their programmes in Amrit, Maharajgung and Engineering campuses in those collage days.

I, on behalf of our team of that time, would like to thank Ramesh and Manjul for representing voiceless people’s real voice. It is not over. Still people are voiceless and they need you to represent them and to make them speak their own words with your song. Pls keep it up.

I move wisely ahead and think, of course,Manjul let ideas emerge as strings of guitarwhich he holds in the picture.Amagingly generous and friendly. Man with plenty of creativity and bearer of equally compelling subplots in deep and suface structure. Sure enough, he is the man of readers™ dream. Needless to say, he is a prolific liteary pillar Gali gare pani chara le jahi gali garna sunna pani kati mitho.Elsewhere, he writes like gau gau bata utha basti basti bath utha. Nothing better illustrates the situation than this song. When times are better all of ours tears will wipe out we will explore evenmore and meditate even more on his both subjectivity and objectivity.. With emotion, admiration and deep gratitude to Manjul daaju I stop here this time.

This message is for the great Manjul, whom I met one at Lagankhel polyclinic in Lagankhel. He and I talked a bit, but I did not recognize him at first. Then he told me he was Manjul. I suddenly felt overwhelmed with respect and an inner sense of exhilaration. I told him then, that I had heard a lot about him from my school teachers, but had never met him. He gave me some phone no.s and emails of people like Shiva Gautam (who incidentally lives close by, and I am looking forward to meeting him too), and I am back here, reminiscing of that day. I just talked to my wife about that meeting yesterday. Seeing Manjul here in a new form makes me feel great about this proud son of Nepal. My hats off to you …

Really you are the great and devoted singer of Nepal. When I was in Ilam after 2046 (1990s) I had the opportunities to listen your programmes live and impressed very much by your progressive songs. It was very exciting. It is true that when anybody listens your songs his blood starts circulating faster and becomes aggresive against all unjustice, unfair and exploitation in the country. Your songs helped to wake up the people especially young generation. There is no doubt that your progressive songs like Gau Gau Bata, Basti Basti Bata’ had significant contribution to change the Nepal to the date 18th May 2006. But Still they have to go ahead ‘Gau Gau Bata, Basti Basti Bata’ to a republican Nepal.
    Best regards

He was complementing some japanese ladies with the title of “Rajkumari” and then one of my friend whispered me that he is the famous Manjul, who teaches Nepali here and sings and writes everywhere.

He was so happy when we could send some of his publications to Spain, which was later translated and published with the help of then Spanish Lecturer, Federico Alonso. Later, I also started talking with him and found a wonderful academician partliy unknown by those terrific songs, lyrics, poems, essays….. He admires Federico García Lorca and Pablo Neruda, which can be seen in his writtings too. I salute to this multiple talended person: Our Manjul Sir.

I would like to dedicate the following words to those musicians who sacrificed their lives for the nation and common people through their progressive patriotic songs.
so many musical artists have been performing only for fame and money. however, these highly nationalistic musicians have been unselfishly using their songs to open people™s eyes for the sake of their country, without any regard for their own personal security and well being.
The musicians remind me of wild orchids that bloom in all seasons and every where even during the fiercest storms and in the hearts of every nepali.

Manjul, one the genuine son of Nepal Aama, name of sacrifice.

He always lives for others. His songs are the combination both the melody and awareness. Pair of Manjul and Ramesh are always preferable. Not to be together dispite their wellwishers will seems like they are more focused on their private feeling rather than public immage.
Mr Manjul, your single blood boiling song opens the eyes of whole country. You can give still more to the country and its people. Wish you all best.

If government appoint this song as the rastiya gan people will be happy because this song is the thought of people, song of people and prestige of country. So we should rise our voice towards this concern. We shouldn’t stop our struggle against monarchy. So, all loktantrik people, come we should fight for the sake of freedom, nationality and republican. Gaun gaun bata utha, basti basti bata utha……………………………………………………..

i have watched the interview of manjul abt 5/6 yrs back, he had told that once ramesh sir took him to the bank of seuti river. manjul was surprised and asked y he is staying hrs in the bank ..as a answer Ramesh asked Manjul to listen but manjul could listen nothing
and then ramesh told manjul to listen the ricer the sound and the music
then manjul shamefully realized tht music may be everything even the flowing rivers sound.
    dat was awesome
this is music in a sense of these lengend
i here by proudly request the concious people of Nepal
